可见，外国人拥有居留许可出入境是十分便利的。当外国人的工作类居留许可即将过期，应该怎么办呢？分为人在境内和人在境外两种情况。

Foreigners are currently in China and need to extend their work permit before the expiration of their residence permit, and apply for the extension of their residence permit at the exit and entry departments, and provide corresponding supporting materials.

外籍人员目前在境内，需要在居留许可到期前进行工作许可证的延期，以及前往出入境部门进行居留许可的延期申请，并提供相应证明材料。

The foreigner is currently abroad, and the validity of the foreigner's work permit held by the foreigner is more than 3 months and has not expired, and the residence permit has expired. If relevant personal materials are provided, the foreigner can apply for visa Z to the local Chinese embassy or consulate abroad or visa center.

外籍人员目前在境外，外籍人员持有的外国人工作许可证的有效期在3个月以上且未过期，居留许可过期，提供相关个人材料，可向当地中国驻外使领馆或签证中心申请Z字签证。

If the work permit has expired, you can apply for a new work permit notice abroad, or you can apply for a new work permit in China after you enter the country with a business visa or other visa and meet certain conditions before applying for a residence permit.

如工作许可已过期，可在国外新办工作许可通知，也可凭商务签或其他签证入境后，满足一定条件后国内新办工作许可证，再办理居留许可。
