Answer: Article 39 of the "Exit and Entry Administration Law of the People's Republic of China" stipulates that hotels should handle accommodation registration for foreigners staying in hotels according to the regulations on the public security management of the hotel industry and report the registration information of foreigners to the local public security organ. If a foreigner resides or stays in other places other than hotels, they or the host should go through the registration at the local public security organ within 24 hours after checking in.
