Document requirements for applying for certification

申办认证的文件要求

If you need to send documents generated in the UK to China for use, you can personally or entrust others to handle the certification of the relevant documents. You need to prepare the following materials:

如果您需要将在英国产生的文件送往中国使用，您可以本人或委托他人办理有关文件的认证。您需要准备以下材料：

1.Complete the 'Consular Authentication Application Form'; If the certification item is death certificate certification, the "Death Certificate Certification Application Form" must be filled out;

The application form must be machine printed and cannot be filled out manually;

1.填妥《领事认证申请表》；如认证事项为死亡证明认证，需填写《死亡证明认证申请表》；申请表必须为机打申请表，不接受手填申请表；

*Except for the certification by the offshore company, item 8 and declaration on the certification application form must be the original signed by the applicant himself, and the signature must be consistent with the passport signature submitted. The center no longer accepts scanned or electronic signatures

*除离岸公司认证外，认证申请表上第8项及声明项均需为申请人本人亲笔签名原件，且签名需与提交的护照签名一致。中心不再接受扫描签名或电子签名。

2.Provide the original certification document and a copy of the certification page issued by the British Ministry of Foreign Affairs or its authorized agency;

2.提供英外交部或其授权机构出具的认证文件原件及认证页复印件；

3.The original notarized documents of two or more pages must be bound and sealed by the notary institution with silk ribbon. If the binding requirements are not met or the documents are altered or replaced, the center will not accept the application and the consulate will not authenticate them

3.两页及两页以上的公证文件原件须经公证机构用丝带捆绑并加封固定，如不满足装订要求或文件有涂改、拆换，中心不受理申请，使领馆不予认证；

4.If your document contains a blank page (including the cover), it must be marked with the words "This page has no text" on that page

4.如您的文件含有空白页（包括封皮），须在该页上注明“此页无正文”字样；

5.Original and photocopy of my valid passport;

5.本人有效护照原件及复印件；

6.If entrusted to others, the agent must submit the original and photocopy of their valid passport, as well as a photocopy of the principal's valid passport; If a company is entrusted to handle it, in addition to the above materials, an authorization letter from the agency company is also required;

6.如委托他人代办，代办者需提交本人有效护照原件和复印件及委托人有效护照复印件;如委托公司办理，除上述材料外，还需提供代办公司授权信；

7.If applying for company business license authentication, a copy of the passport of the company's legal representative and documents that can prove the identity of the company's legal representative should also be submitted

7.如办理公司营业执照认证，还应提交公司法人代表的护照复印件及能证明公司法人代表身份的文件。

注意事项：

1.The embassy and consulate only confirm the authenticity of the seals and signatures of officials from the British Ministry of Foreign Affairs or its authorized agencies, and the content of the documents is the responsibility of the sender

1.使领馆只确认英国外交部或其授权机构官员印鉴、签字属实，文件内容由出文方负责。

2.At present, the Convention on the Cancellation of Certification Requirements for Foreign Official Documents applies to Hong Kong and Macau, China. Documents generated in the UK can be used in Hong Kong and Macau after being issued with an "additional certificate" by relevant UK agencies

2.目前，《取消外国公文认证要求的公约》适用于中国香港和澳门地区。在英国产生的文件，经英国有关机构出具“附加证明书”后便可在香港和澳门使用。

3.Documents generated in the overseas territories of Isle of Man, Bailiwicks of Jersey, and Bailiwicks of Guernsey in the UK can be authenticated by local officials authorized by the UK Foreign Office before submitting an application to the visa center. Documents generated in other British territories, such as the Virgin Islands, must be authenticated by the Notary Office of the UK Foreign Office before submitting an application to the visa center

3.在英国海外属地马恩岛（Isle of Man）、泽西岛（Bailiwicks of Jersey）、根西岛（Bailiwicks of Guernsey）产生的文件，可在当地经英国外交部授权的机构官员认证后，再到签证中心递交申请。在英国其他属地，如维京群岛（Virgin Islands）等产生的文件，须经英国外交部公证认证办公室认证后，再到签证中心递交申请。

4.Because some agents are unwilling to open the envelope containing the authentication documents, unable to answer relevant questions, or unable to provide relevant documents, the visa center has the right to refuse to accept such applications and does not assume any responsibility for delays in submitting relevant documents in a timely manner

4.因为一些代办人员不愿打开装有认证文件的信封，又不能回答相关提问，或不能提供相关文件，签证中心有权拒绝受理此类申请，并对不能及时递交有关文件的申请不承担延误责任。

5.After accepting the application documents, the applicant is required to immediately pay all fees. If all fees are not paid within business hours on the same day, the center will terminate the application and contact the applicant to resubmit

5.接受申请文件后，申请人需立即支付所有费用，如当天未能在营业时间内支付所有费用，中心将终止申请，并联系申请人重新递交。

6.If one of the following situations occurs in the application for consular authentication, the visa center has the right to refuse to accept it, causing the consulate to refuse authentication:

6.申请领事认证的文书有下列情形之一的，签证中心有权拒绝受理，使领馆不予认证：

(1) The seal or signature of the document is not authentic;

(1) 文书的印鉴、签名不属实的；

(2) The seal or signature of the document has not been filed or does not match the filing;

(2) 文书的印鉴、签名未进行备案，或者与备案不相符的；

(3) The technical standards such as binding, seal, and signature of documents do not comply with the regulations and requirements of the issuing or using institution;

(3) 文书的装订、印鉴、签名等技术性标准不符合出文机构、用文机构规定和要求的；

(4) Chinese passport, resident ID card, domestic driver's license, and other documents issued in China;

(4) 中国护照、居民身份证、国内驾照等中国国内出具的文书；

(5) The content of the document violates Chinese laws or may harm the national and public interests of China.

(5) 文书的内容违反中国法律或可能损害中国国家及社会公共利益的。

7.Third country documents should be authenticated at the place of origin and the Chinese embassy or consulate in that country

7.第三国文件应在文件产生地及中国驻该国使领馆办理认证。
